ZafGod (Romanian, b. 1993) is the moniker of Alexandru Zaharia, an artist working across painting and digital media in a bold, eclectic style he calls Future Mixed Media.,,His work explores the eerie textures of everyday life and mortality, moving between the transcendent and the mundane.,Born in Piatra Neamț, he lives and works in Bucharest and has been active in NFTs since late 2020.,
Zaharia holds a bachelor's degree in graphics and a master of fine arts degree in painting. He began minting NFTs in November 2020 after discovering OpenSea while looking for alternative ways to sell his work. His process, he has said, is trial and error and freestyle work he compares to improvisation in music, mixing traditional painting techniques with digital tools until a piece feels resolved. He has said he is drawn to the sense of presence a space can hold, a physical sensation that feels almost like an entity.
In July 2022 he minted OMEN 17, his first piece on SuperRare, made possible through support from the Museum of Crypto Art.His piece Dream states of a mortal mind was shown at Leilei Gallery's “This Aged Really Well”, described as the first NFT group exhibition in Romania, staged in four chapters with works minted on Hic et Nunc on Tezos.,,He later showed work in the group exhibition “ART OF PUNK” at the Francisco Carolinum Museum in Linz and in the Metaverse Voxels, running from September 2024 to January 2025.In 2026 he took part in ETERNO Gallery's group show “Unpermissioned Self / Proof of Being” at the NFC Summit in Lisbon, which considered portraiture after the internet using CryptoPunks as a reference point for digital identity, alongside artists including Coldie, Justin Aversano, Amber Vittoria and Pindar Van Arman.,
