Bio

Zaaa Bey, born Kaan Bilaloğlu, is a Turkish animator and illustrator who makes violent, demented and hilarious cartoon animations in a style compared to Itchy and Scratchy and Raving Rabbids.^, A recurring knock-off Mickey Mouse character uses wild imagination to kill sheep, some of them supposedly dear friends, across gifs minted on the Tezos platforms Hic et Nunc and Teia.^,

Bilaloğlu grew up across several Turkish cities, including Eskişehir, Erzincan and Ankara, before settling in Istanbul. The youngest of four in the family, Bilaloğlu has said the father, and then an older brother, were its earliest creative influences. Bilaloğlu worked as a designer and animator in Istanbul, including roles at Koff Animation and at Kraken. Bilaloğlu is based in Portugal.

The character's targets have included Disney, as in 🖍️ Ooops , a small typo :) - D1sn3yWar, a piece of political commentary aimed at the studio. Individual gifs such as Choo Choo, Drinking Tea at Midnight and 🐑 Space Sheep 🛸 were minted on Hic et Nunc and Teia. One animated piece, made with InancKutal, folds the fairy tale of the Three Little Pigs into a scene from the film The Shining. Bilaloğlu's practice also extends to tattooing and street art.
