Bio
Yu Cai is a Chinese illustrator and animator based in Venice, Italy, whose work builds atmospheric visual worlds shaped by city life, memory and imagination. Originally trained in painting and printmaking, she later moved into digital art, bringing a painterly sensibility to layered interiors, dreamlike architectures and quiet narrative scenes.
Her surreal, dreamlike scenes have been described as exploring futurism and elusion, rendered in a playful drawing technique with a nostalgic, pink-tinted palette. Her work has been shown at the 14th Gwangju Biennale in South Korea and at The Armory Show in New York, among numerous international exhibitions.
