ykxotkx is a Japanese generative artist and software developer who writes code-based algorithms, often drawing on traditional Japanese motifs such as ukiyo-e.,He discovered generative art during the 2021 NFT boom, citing Tyler Hobbs's Fidenza and Generativemasks as early influences, and releases most work on fxhash and objkt on Tezos.
His work follows one of two approaches: writing an algorithm without knowing its output and then refining the result, or picturing a finished piece first and building the code to realize it. He was later commissioned as the third generative artist for Nishikigoi NFT, a project representing the ornamental carp bred for generations by Japan's Yamakoshi community, for which he modeled more than thirty algorithmic variables on real Nishikigoi color patterns.
