Yazid is a Brunei-born generative artist who writes code and algorithms into minimalist, symbolic works that bridge analog and digital sensibilities. He minted his first work in February 2021 after discovering NFTs while researching blockchain technology, having previously worked in financial services innovation, graphic design, and software development.,
In April 2021 he began minting on the Tezos blockchain through the hic et nunc marketplace, and later released Hashed Arcs as his genesis project on fxhash, followed by Hashed Cities, generative skylines whose day or night setting shapes the real-time movement of celestial bodies.,Other artists cited his idea of “Artificial Imperfection” as an inspiration, including ismahelio's evolving Non Spaces feature. In 365, he minted a new piece each day, describing the series as “minimalist representations of each day of the year”.His process starts from exploratory sketches in code, and he cites early computer artists including Manfred Mohr, Michael Noll, Georg Nees, and Vera Molnar, along with 1960s graphic design and flat design, as touchstones.
In 2022 he collaborated with the artist Zancan on (kinder)Garden, Monuments, a project that minted out on fxhash amid a wider Tezos market downturn.,That same year he created Ir/rational Beauty as a tribute to Herbert W. Franke, one of nearly 5,000 such tributes released by more than sixty artists across Ethereum and Tezos.,In January 2023 he took part in “Cure³”, a charitable selling exhibition devised by Artwise Curators in collaboration with Bonhams and Cure Parkinson's, presenting a commissioned work alongside artists including Anna Carreras and Iskra Velitchkova.
For Fakewhale Cross's “GENERATIVE” release in June 2023 he created Split, an interactive piece built with JavaScript and SVG that evolves slowly over time to represent the ways people are divided each day.,That August his work was included in “Proof Grails Season IV”, a twenty-artist collection released alongside pieces by Casey Reas and Kim Asendorf. For “Uncomputer”, a Frieze London show presented by Unit London and GrailersDAO, his interactive work Abstraction takes a snapshot of a viewer's face on activation, using the resulting expression as a source of chance and randomness. His work has also entered Kate Vass Galerie's Tezos collection, including the piece Gestalt #927.His work has been collected by more than 1,000 people and shown at venues including Museum Angewandte Kunst in Frankfurt and Art Basel in Hong Kong and Miami Beach.
