WGMeets is a New Jersey-based multidisciplinary artist who creates vivid abstract art exploring inner meditations and social commentary. His practice draws on more than two decades of graphic design and color theory. He has worked in web3 as both an artist and a collector since 2018.
WGMeets grew up in Washington Heights in New York City before settling in New Jersey.He first minted digital work on Editional in 2019. That year he gave his first CryptoArt interview, to LAL Art's Fanny Lakoubay.Drawn to abstraction as a teenager, he found that entering web3 matched the ethos of crypto with his own artistic intent. He began breaking apart fractals generated in Fractal Labs, an OpenGL browser tool made by Tom Beddard, moving from alien-like landscapes toward pieces built from his own emotions and opinions.He also founded and leads 100Fuegos, a creative agency and consultancy for startups, new media and the collectibles market.
From 2019 to 2022 he minted primarily on SuperRare and Known Origin.,In 2023 he released Ventana, a ten-week series of AI-generated tropical scenes made with a locally run version of Stable Diffusion as a tribute to the skies of the Dominican Republic.That year he also released FLESH on Foundation, a 100-piece AI collection made with Stable Diffusion, reflecting on the emotional damage people leave behind after using and discarding one another.His series ABridged launched on Foundation on October 5, 2023, built around the soul, body and spirit as forces that shape how people move through the world.,He has released work on Tezos through Handmades Tale, a project combining abstract and street art on objkt.He also continues INOculate, a series about the perseverance and struggles of the mind.In 2024 he took part in Collab Cooking, a multi-artist collection on Transient Labs curated by MLow.His work was also chosen by ArtCrush, in collaboration with SOMO, for display on more than 5,000 New York City taxis.,
