Valentin Vidal Herrera is a self-taught Argentinian artist and graphic designer based in South America whose abstract digital work draws on surrealism and automatism.,Working without preliminary plans, he lets digital brushstrokes follow instinct and the subconscious, treating each piece as a metaphysical inquiry into reality and the self. He has said that digital art chose him rather than the other way around.
His artistic development has been archived and marketed on web3 since 2021,and he traces his engagement with abstraction to a childhood spent around his mother, a ceramics teacher.He cites André Breton's surrealist manifesto and Socrates' dictum “Know thyself, and you will know the universe” as touchstones for a practice he treats as a form of self-exploration rather than a fixed representation of the external world.,He has described his home country, Argentina, as a nation of constant reinvention and chaos that feeds directly into his work.
In 2023 his 1/1 piece Wind Blows and the Phantom Worries was selected for Accompart's first Digital Art Auction, “1984”, and displayed at the 1984 ACCA Gallery. He has named Dreams Inhabit Stories his favourite collection, calling it a breakthrough in his work and thinking.In May 2024 Fakewhale's Solo Series presented A Symbol at the Surface, pairing the 1/1 Through Death You Can Not Be Alone, on the universal bond uncovered in solitude and death, with the 15-edition No End to This Illusion, on the endless cycle of perception and reality.
