Victor Reyes (b. 1978) is a painter and muralist based in San Francisco who works across studio painting, murals and site-specific installations.As a teenager he was influenced by the graffiti crew AWR (Angels Will Rise) and the wider circles of The Seventh Letter and MSK, coming up without formal art training.He moved to San Francisco in the late 1990s and became a prominent figure in the Mission District's mural scene.,
Since arriving from Los Angeles, Reyes has built a three-decade studio and mural practice rooted in the Mission District, alongside a parallel career designing corporate art commissions. His paintings layer opaque and translucent pigment through screens and molds, setting hard-edge structure against gestural spontaneity to build surfaces whose depth shifts as a viewer moves around them. He operates independently, working directly with art consultants, interior designers and corporate art programs rather than through gallery representation, with commissions completed for companies including Apple, Adobe, Google, Meta, Nike and Louis Vuitton.He lives with his wife and children in San Francisco.,
His work has been shown at “Beyond the Streets” in New York and Los Angeles, at Modernism Gallery in San Francisco, Jonathan LeVine Projects in New York, and Mini Galerie in Amsterdam.In January 2025 he contributed a unique work to “787 Presents Echoes of the Squares”, a curated collaboration launched on SuperRare alongside five other artists including Jan Baumgartner and Gina Choy.
