McKay grew up in Thunder Bay, in Northern Ontario, and started taking photos and videos at age 13, filming his friends skateboarding on VHS tape. Movies were his earliest inspiration, and he later moved to Toronto, where street photography drew him in through the city's constantly changing scenes of new buildings, art installations and passersby.³ He shoots with a Sony A7RIII,^2,3 editing in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop to remove distracting street elements like manhole covers and traffic cones before finishing each image.³

His time-lapse and photography work has been featured by National Geographic, Apple and Sony.⁴ He sells Lightroom presets and prints through his own site and the Darkroom platform,^5,6 and has released work across NFT platforms including SuperRare, Foundation, OpenSea and OBJKT.⁴ He is part of the collectives Builders DAO and LIT,⁴ and in January 2024 his work was selected for “The Pulsr Vault”, an open call co-curated by HUG.⁴
