Truedrew, the online name of Drew Thomas, is a blockchain artist who creates generative art released in fixed editions. He has a design degree and runs the consultancy and product studio Work & Whistle alongside his art practice. He has had a SuperRare profile since 2020 and has released work through Art Blocks.
Across, released through Art Blocks on March 21, 2024, is a generative art collection that runs the same algorithm across multiple blockchains, with ten unique pieces released on each — the Arbitrum edition among them. The project treats this as an open question, asking whether pieces minted from the same algorithm on different chains form one collection or two. In Commute, released in August 2024 as an edition of 10 through Stacks by Transient Labs, Truedrew recreated a still-image collage entirely in code, programming its layers with randomized motion and interactivity so the piece plays back as a looping video.
