Treeskulltown is the conceptual avatar of a French multidisciplinary artist based near Lyon, France.,He reworks classical and historic oil paintings by adding colourful animation, turning them into moving digital artworks recorded on the blockchain.He calls this approach Subrealism, merging the physical texture of oil paint with digital distortion.,
His early series The Key of Amaranthes reworks historic portrait paintings around the amaranth flower, an ancient symbol of immortality. He has summed up the series' idea of selfhood as “us, we are our own inner gold”.Since around 2012, he has taught his son and other children to draw every Friday near Lyon, saying “we learn as much from children as we transmit”. He treats that childlike freedom, working without judgment or fear of being wrong, as central to how he approaches his own paintings.
In collaboration with the artist Muriel Lherm, he created Genesis Protocol, a series in seven acts tracing the birth of consciousness through AI, stop-motion and digital animation.In 2025 he released Spring Forever, an edition of 100 and the opening piece of a four-part series called Eternal Wings built around the four seasons, on Gamma Prints, a Bitcoin Ordinals platform. Spring Forever blends digital and acrylic imagery in which spring's renewal dissolves into eternity, as a tribute to William Bouguereau's painting Biblis, on display at the Salar Jung Museum in Hyderabad, India.He continued the series later that month with Eternity of Summer, released as an edition of 30.
His Line of Code series extends his practice into interactive, generative work. NC_03 · Breath, the fifth work in the series, layers generative code over a GIF of hand-animated creature figures sculpted from cardboard, wood and acrylic, following a four-phase breathing cycle that a viewer can slow or speed up. When the piece breathes, it sends a signal to other connected works in what he calls the Creature Network, so multiple screens can pulse in time with each other.In 2024 he was included in HUG's open call 100 Artists to Watch, judged by a panel that included curators from the Museum of Modern Art and Christie's.,
