Timpers is the pseudonym of Oliver, a pixel artist from Manchester, England who entered the NFT space in 2021, initially selling one-of-one artwork on Foundation before contributing artwork to RTFKT and to the launch of Nouns. He was one of the ten original Nounders who founded Nouns DAO in 2021, and later founded the collectible project Chimpers with his twin brother Jacob, known as Insight.
In July 2021 he minted the debut episode of The Boring Ape Chronicles, an animated GIF series he has said began as “artwork that paid homage to the club I loved” rather than a planned collection; its 100 editions sold out at 0.25 ETH each, and the collection's floor price rose to around 9 ETH within two years. Working with Insight over the following year, he built that project into Chimpers, a 5,555-piece pixel art collection launched in May 2022 that generated more than $37 million in trading volume.
Nouns, the generative pixel-art project he helped found, mints one new 32×32-pixel character every day under a CC0 public-domain license, with all funds going to a community treasury governed by Noun holders. In 2024 he was one of nine artists, including XCOPY, Jake Fried and Dangiuz, featured in Derivatives, a generative AI art drop from the web3 startup Genie.
