My name is Corina Daniela Obertas, and I'm a photographer based in Rome, Italy. I grew up in Romania, where I first discovered my love of art inspired by my grandmother who was a painter and my father who was a passionate photographer. I spent my childhood drawing, painting, photographing and exploring my creative side. Despite my passion for the arts from a young age, after high school, I moved to Bucharest where I attended a degree in Economics and then I have built my own real estate business. Nonetheless, I maintained my artistic interests as a hobby, constantly exploring new techniques and mediums in my free time. In 2003, I relocated to Rome, Italy, where I continued to work in the real estate industry until 2006, all the while nurturing my passion for the arts and exploring new creative outlets in my spare time. However, with the onset of the economic crisis and the real estate market in decline, I was presented with the opportunity to rediscover my passion for photography. Starting with stock photography, I soon realized my passion for capturing the art of food and began studying at prestigious schools online. This newfound expertise, combined with my commercial acumen, led me to open my own photography studio, specializing in food and commercial photography. In parallel, I continue to explore other subjects such as portraiture and nature, constantly striving to push the boundaries of my craft. Since February 2021, with the entrance into the NFT space, I have been exploring new artistic horizons and challenging myself to re-embrace the possibilities of painting and digital art. Through this journey, I have transformed myself into a multidisciplinary artist. As an early adopter of AI, I have incorporated the technology into my artistic practice, exploring the intersection of photography, artificial intelligence, and the emerging NFT space. My work is deeply inspired by the world around me, as I constantly seek out new concepts and facts to explore in my art. Although I have not abandoned completely the documentary photography, I find myself increasingly drawn to more conceptual forms of expression. I'm fascinated by the interplay between art and the human experience, and my work reflects my ongoing exploration of these complex and nuanced themes. Through my art, I strive to create works that challenge the viewer's perceptions of the world around them, and to inspire a sense of wonder and curiosity. I'm excited to continue exploring new forms of artistic expression, creating pieces that are both visually stunning and conceptually rich. My work is informed by a curiosity about the nature of reality and the role that technology plays in shaping our perceptions of it. I use AI algorithms to generate unique images that are then combined with my own photographic compositions, resulting in pieces that are at once familiar and strange, beautiful and unsettling. Through my art, I seek to challenge conventional notions of what photography can be and offer new perspectives on the world around us.
