Th0mas Art is a generative artist based in Austria who writes code, largely in p5.js, to produce his work.,He holds a degree in mechatronics and works as an engineer in the automotive industry, and he began making art in the fall of 2021 after discovering NFTs while exploring cryptocurrencies.
He first found his footing as an AI artist, showing work in galleries in New York, France, Rome, and Austria, before discovering generative art in early 2023 and shifting his focus to programming.,He has released four projects on Art Blocks: Prohibition, Minimal Motion, Geometric Harmony, and Infinite Balance.
In January 2025 he released Lost Transmissions, his first fully on-chain generative project on Ethereum, through 256art, a supply of 128 pieces inspired by the cathode-ray-tube screens invented by Karl Ferdinand Braun in 1897, each combining one of six typefaces with distorted, monochrome CRT-style visuals.,The following March he released Loominals, his first generative project on Bitcoin, a supply of 128 pieces through the Gamma marketplace inspired by Tyler Hobbs's One One Overflow and designed to resemble loom-woven fabric.,His Bitcoin project Lights Between Moments is built from 144 pre-inscriptions with on-chain metadata, using seven traits to translate the artist's own highs and lows into vivid, sometimes chaotic geometries.
Rasterwerk, a curated series of solo works, draws on grid-based architecture and the influences of Brutalism and Minimalism, both of which he says run through his art and his personal life.Three works from the series had their debut physical exhibition at ARTspace gallery.T69 in Hohenems, Austria, directed by Andreas Ender, running from May 24 to August 16, 2025.
