Takens Theorem is a pseudonymous data analyst, visualist and writer working with on-chain crypto data. Their visualizations explore themes of time, scale and interconnectedness, examining how data and cultural context are reshaped by blockchain technology. Since entering the space several years ago, they have built early data interfaces for crypto projects and produced fully on-chain, interactive NFT works.
In 2019 they built an early recommender system for NFTs, and later released Collective Filter, an Ethereum NFT recommender. Their on-chain and interactive projects include the_coin, Gaussian Timepieces and The Mesh, while their data-visualization works include Ethstory, Indivisuals and Reflective Recursion. The Mesh was shown in JPG's “Value Flows” exhibition at NFT Paris in 2023, adapted from token updates driven by on-chain data. Several projects have carried charitable fundraising goals, together raising more than 60 ETH for 501(c)(3) charities.
