Takens Theorem is a pseudonymous data analyst, visualist and writer working with on-chain crypto data. Their visualizations explore themes of time, scale and interconnectedness, examining how data and cultural context are reshaped by blockchain technology. Since entering the space several years ago, they have built early data interfaces for crypto projects and produced fully on-chain, interactive NFT works.
In 2019 they built an early recommender system for NFTs, and later released Collective Filter, an Ethereum NFT recommender.,Their on-chain and interactive projects include the_coin, Gaussian Timepieces and The Mesh, while their data-visualization works include Ethstory, Indivisuals and Reflective Recursion. The Mesh was shown in JPG's “Value Flows” exhibition at NFT Paris in 2023, adapted from token updates driven by on-chain data. Several projects have carried charitable fundraising goals, together raising more than 60 ETH for 501(c)(3) charities.
In September 2024 they repurposed an obscure 2018 ERC-20 vulnerability to restore Rothko on Pennies, a fully on-chain artwork by the artist Yigit Duman that had become invisible.,Their Attentional Dynamics (2021), a dynamic word cloud built from OpenSea trading data between 2018 and late 2021, was included in the Digital Asset Museum's “DAM Genesis Collection” in June 2025.In February 2024 their Metrix project was included in the inaugural collection of The Function Gallery, an artist-led initiative for art inscribed on Bitcoin. That April their work De-Automated was exhibited in person at NFT NYC's Artists Village. In December 2025 they contributed Private Ledger to SuperRare's “Intimate Systems” exhibition.
