Synchrodogs is the Ukrainian duo of Roman Noven and Tania Shcheglova, who have made collaborative photography since 2008.,Their images set nude figures or props into outdoor settings, pursuing a soft, surreal quality that explores the relationship between nature and the artificial.,They generate ideas continuously, through nighttime meditation and observation of everyday life, before building installations and props for each project.
Their photography has been published in the books Byzantine (Éditions du LIC, Oslo, 2013) and Fashion Eye Ukraine (Louis Vuitton Publishing, 2020). In 2013 they were shortlisted for the PinchukArtPrize, and in 2015 their work was shown at the Dallas Contemporary Museum.
After Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, their piece Nature Twins #17 was included in Right Click Save's tribute to Ukrainian artists on SuperRare.That March they ran a print sale of earlier work, including Untitled (2013), with proceeds going to support Ukraine.
In 2023 they released Overture, an AI project generated by neural networks trained solely on their own 15-year photographic archive. They described the project as drawing the viewer into “an unconscious, wild, and dreamlike world”. Overture was shown at the California Museum of Photography's exhibition “Every Day We Have to Invent the Reality of This World: AI Post Photography” from October 2023 to March 2024.In November 2024 they created Started by Anon, card two of Meme eleven, Season 9 of The Memes by 6529, an edition of 310.That year their work was also shown at VOLTA New York's Ukraine Pavilion, presented through Dymchuk gallery.
