Supermetal Bosch is an artist whose work interweaves physical objects with digital sculpture, using generative adversarial networks, Stable Diffusion and custom editing to create collectible figures. He coined the term "Avant NFT" in a tongue-in-cheek social media post on January 25, 2022, giving a name to the online scene of digital artists, painters, sculptors and writers to which he belongs.
His early collection Super Metal Mons!, 2021,was generated by training a generative adversarial network on thousands of images of small toys, including keshi collectible miniatures popular in Japan. The resulting characters were minted as NFTs on Ethereum, then fabricated in cast porcelain and developed into a playable, chess-like board game. For the series, Bosch fed images of cartoon monsters into the model to study how character design functions at the level of pattern and rule, producing blurry, porous creatures that look unfinished. The work exists as both a digital collectible and a ceramic game piece.
Characters from Super Metal Mons! reappear in his Solana collection Little Swag World, built from photoshopped assets processed with Stable Diffusion. The designs began as mood-board collages of fashion imagery, which an AI model then smoothed into unified figurines rendered as both digital collectibles and 3D-printed physical objects. Across both series, Bosch uses AI to probe the mechanics of desire in NFT and collectible culture, including the appeal of characters, cuteness and figurines. Both series were shown together at Galerie Yeche Lange in the two-artist exhibition “One of Us Is Real and It's Not You”, alongside the collage work of Evil Biscuit. The artist Parker Ito has described Little Swag World as “really interesting, using AI and 3D rendering”.
