Stranger in the Q is the name used by Konstantin, a software engineer.Konstantin creates generative art with JavaScript code and shaders.,In SL/CE, released on Art Blocks in April 2023, the artist slices simple geometric shapes into pieces and tests each result using their own “bad composition detector” function until a balanced composition emerges.
SL/CE draws on Suprematism and generative composition, an attempt to bridge the gap between generated and constructed artworks. The artist has noted that the resulting images can produce a pareidolia-like effect, in which shapes read as recognizable forms, sometimes closely enough to work as profile pictures.Warp #020203 WIP was included in the collection of the Madison Museum of Art & Technology.
Stranger in the Q has taken part in Genuary, a community event in which participants make a piece of code-based art for each daily prompt every January.,A day 25 entry for Genuary 2025 appears, on close inspection, to form its image from the thickness of a single line perturbed where it crosses darker areas of an underlying image.The artist also set the day one prompt “Vertical or horizontal lines only” for Genuary 2025.
