Stefan Große Halbuer (b. 1986) is a freelance designer and digital artist based in Münster, Germany,working across information design, illustration and editorial design.His practice spans commercial illustration for magazines and brands,hand-drawn isometric digital art,and NFT-era work exhibited internationally.
Große Halbuer trained as a media designer at UNITY AG in Paderborn from 2008 to 2011, then studied Communication Design at the Münster School of Design from 2011 to 2015, followed by a Master's in Information & Communication there from 2015 to 2019. He founded the studio Geistreiz Design in 2013 and was a partner at HIAMOVI Studio for Visual Communications in Münster from 2014 to 2018.His illustration and infographic work has been commissioned by clients including Adidas, Adobe, Die Zeit, Electronic Arts, KIA Motors, Samsung, Sony Music and WIRED Magazine Germany,for which he created an illustration for its June 2015 issue.
Since joining SuperRare in 2021, he has released digital paintings such as Haussmannian and the Cycle of the Shroom series.His Curious Cabins, a collection of hand-drawn isometric houses inspired by strategic video games he played in the 1990s and 2000s, is minted on a Manifold contract with a maximum supply of 69.His work has been shown at “Floating Pixels” during Art Basel Miami in 2022, “The Sound of Pixels” during Art Basel Hong Kong in 2023, and at “Édouard”, an exhibition at NFT Factory in Paris, and at NFT NYC, both in 2023.
Alongside his digital art he self-publishes print projects through Kickstarter, including Suits of Life, an illustrated playing-card deck and art book that took about 430 hours of work over 22 months to complete.
