somaticbits, also known as David Pettersson, is a digital artist who uses code and design to create interactive, immersive and generative artworks representing a complex inner world of altered realities. A graphic designer turned creative coder, he uses light and colour to distort reality and question the viewer's sensory perception.
In 2021 his work was included in “I by alterHEN”, a group show staged by the digital art space alterHEN. His artwork Shine, published in the alterHEN issue The Tickle, imagines how photons might interact in a different environment, creating new combinations of colour and light. That year he also co-organized the first Hicathon, a hackathon run by the platform HicEtNunc, together with the artist Diane Drubay. Pettersson and Drubay collaborate under the name eigenflow, disrupting the flow of nature to recreate synthetic natural environments.
