Iv Solyaev is a digital artist who works across a mixture of digital techniques to create dark, atmospheric compositions drawn from natural patterns. His work focuses on the sensation of texture and inner mythologies.He lives and works in Tbilisi and has worked in digital graphics since 2003, contributing as a concept artist and art director to projects for clients including Universal Pictures, HBO and Nintendo.,
In 2024, he presented Into the warm darkness, a series inspired by fairy tales and a dark kingdom world of his own creation, with some ideas originating in a game project he developed for consoles and PCs. He described the work as “a metaphorical battle of people with flowers on their graves and our doom and endless hope that lives in us even on the darkest nights”.
Solyaev also creates collaboratively with his wife, the artist Elena Lazutina, under the joint label TwelveBrunches, which the two established for their shared projects after their first official collaboration in 2022. Under TwelveBrunches, they created R▲ND✜M⦿P☻LIS, an AI-generated project depicting a world “pieced together like a theatre of absurdity”, using tools including ComfyUI. On the project, Lazutina handles the visuals while Solyaev works on sound, story and technical aspects.
In 2023, his work was included in “AI Metaverse: Where Imagination Meets Technology”, an exhibition curated by Andrei Riabovitshev and released on MakersPlace.In 2025, Solyaev and Lazutina were also featured together in Season One of the objkt Art Pack, a tradable NFT reward program with commissioned works from more than 60 artists on the objkt platform.
