Garcia studied art history in college and took a coding class to improve her job prospects, a decision that led her into the history of computer-generated art. After graduating she moved to New York and worked as a developer at JP Morgan, using her income to start collecting art. With Sebastian Sanchez she curated her first exhibition, featuring Tyler Hobbs and Dmitri Cherniak, at the Contemporary and Digital Art Fair. In 2021 she left JP Morgan to organize a generative art exhibition in Miami for Art Basel. The following year she co-founded ARTXCODE with Toni Marinara to represent artists full-time.¹

ARTXCODE represents artists working exclusively in code-based generative art, a focus Garcia settled on in 2018, three years before leaving her job at JP Morgan. She teaches Introduction to Algorithmic Art at NYU's ITP master's programme and has run the nonprofit Code Art in Miami, teaching girls creative coding, for eleven years. Among the artists she represents are Lorna Mills, Aria Harvey, and Mika Ben-Omar.³ In 2024 she contributed the introductory essay On Algorithmic Art to TASCHEN's On NFTs, the first major art-historical survey of the medium.⁴

That year ARTXCODE also released Garcia's own inaugural artwork, Misunderstood Machines, made without external code libraries in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The piece renders two decks of digital playing cards, one printed with soft and sometimes cruel emotional adjectives, the other with rigid computer-science terms. Clicking a card triggers a shuffle through the deck and flips it via CSS to reveal a new word. Its card pattern draws on the work of Vera Molnár, whom Garcia has called a key inspiration. The work was sold as two onchain releases, a single-edition Net Art auction of the original webpage and a 52-piece The Generative Series drawn from its shuffle function.² The piece was ARTXCODE's first release built with Highlight.xyz. Later that year the gallery made its debut at the SCOPE Art Show in Miami, its first participation in a major international art fair.⁴
