The skull is a reminder of equality, a symbol that alludes to death, being this a perfect equalizer between people. Evidence that all, regardless of race, sex, social class, religion or sexual orientation share the same destiny. When you look at a skull, you can only deduce that it belonged to a person, the richest man's skull is no different from the poorest and this is irrefutable proof that in essence we really are the same.
