singlezer0, whose real name is Ryan Haines, is a self-portrait artist who fuses analog and digital tools, visual effects, animation and artificial intelligence to explore identity and the human condition. He often works by altering or disassembling his own image in looped self-portrait animations, describing the process as a way to disconnect from seeing himself.
Haines recalls his earliest digital art memory as a birthday banner made in Printshop and printed on a dot matrix printer. He began experimenting with AI in 2021, which he has said “opened a lot of doors” for him creatively and helped him carve out his own space in the text-to-image scene. His piece You're So Emotional became his all-time-high sale on Ethereum and one of his first technical leaps in AI animation.
