Ronald Kuang, known as Seerlight (@seerlight), is an illustrator and animator based in Los Angeles.His illustrated scenes of Tokyo-inspired cityscapes and interiors, indebted to Studio Ghibli, combine detailed static backgrounds with small pockets of animation, such as a rippling puddle or a moving night sky.,
Kuang was already selling individual illustrations on SuperRare in 2021, including Kingdom Shopping District, which sold for 43.25 ETH in September of that year, and Sakura Diner, which sold for 86 ETH that October.,By the time he co-founded Capsule House, he already had a following on Instagram and YouTube.On October 1, 2021 he co-founded Capsule House, an anime-inspired PFP collection, with the Singapore-based artist Kaejunni and the developer and musician Oksami. Each capsule hatches into a character from one of four species — Yokai, Demihumans, Humans and Posthumans — and can be given swappable backgrounds, animation and music. The project is community-led, with a holder-funded treasury that votes on proposals for its continued development.
Kuang continued releasing individual illustrations alongside Capsule House, including High-Rise, sold for 104.5 ETH in January 2022, and Night Market District, sold for 100 ETH in September 2022.,That year he reached his highest recorded single sale at 150 ETH.
