Samantha Cavet is a photographer, born in Caracas, Venezuela and based in Spain, whose painterly images translate nostalgia, solitude and quiet unease into contemporary landscape photography. She builds her landscapes from fog, low light and solitary figures or trees, working in a style often compared to Impressionism for treating a scene as a feeling and a time of day rather than a fixed description.
Post-production is central to her process. She reworks color and tone after the shoot to give each landscape its final emotional register, so that an image can feel like an inhabited memory of the past rather than a simple record of a place. In her series Ukiyo-e, she reinterprets traditional Japanese and Chinese landscape painting through bright, flat planes of color and bold contour lines, using the tension between foreground and background to suggest space.
