Roya Ghassemi is an Iranian-German artist and women's rights activist who works under the name r0yart, making female portraits and figures set in magical, dreamlike spaces. Her art traces her own inner journey alongside that of oppressed women around the world, using color, nature, and animal imagery to depict the soul's passage toward freedom.
Her artwork Hope Grows Everywhere, from the series Bloom with grace, was purchased by the WoWFund and placed in the first-floor central gallery of the World of Women Museum inside The Sandbox metaverse in 2022.,The piece was captioned “She wore her hope like a crown, an outspoken soliloquy of dreams” and was selected by the WoW curatorial team for how it speaks to women's rights and female empowerment. A separate 1/1 piece, GAIA, made in collaboration with World of Women, was selected for display in more than twenty airports worldwide as part of a VINCI Airports initiative on gender equality.She was also chosen to show work alongside prominent NFT artists at “The Armory Contemporary Art Exhibition” in Times Square, New York, and exhibited at NFT Liverpool in 2022.,
Beyond digital painting, Ghassemi works across ceramics, storytelling, drawing, photography, and print, with a practice shaped by her own migration and lived experience of belonging and identity.In the exhibition “My Name is Dream” she presented ceramic sculptures addressing dreams, trauma recovery, and healing.
