Rocco Gallo (b. 1991) is a self-taught digital artist based in Rimini, Italy, whose vivid, simplified and playful imagery draws on a self-described childlike sense of wonder. Born in Mombasa, Kenya, and raised in a multicultural environment that has shaped his work, he had no formal art training and has pursued creative work since childhood.
He found his way into web3 through exploring new technologies, drawn to the decentralized and democratic character of blockchain art, which let him connect directly with collectors and collaborate with other artists. His work embraces an intuitive, untrained approach, favoring unexpected compositions and unconventional color over formal technique. In 2023 he was included in “Digital Na(t)ive”, a curated drop on objkt.one exploring the connection between digitally crafted Naïve Art and web3, and said in an accompanying interview that he had already considered his own work part of that genre before the show.He has also released the generative collections Drift and Papercut on Tezos, each generated from a single seed and fixed permanently once assembled.,
