Robinson St. George is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, film, music, animation, and artificial intelligence. Originating in large-scale oil painting, his digital practice remains anchored in the physical world, translating traditional concerns of brushwork, scale, and texture into computational imagery. His conceptual framework explores the tension between opposites, pairing visual playfulness with the existential weight of the human condition, approached with the compositional precision of historical masters.
In field recordings (2026), a collection of seven short animated tableaus with original sound design released on Ethereum, he put audio on equal footing with image, composing the soundtrack entirely from his own field recordings. The audio landscapes are stitched from fragments captured on walks in nature and the ambient noise of the street below his apartment window, while each visual tableau is rooted in an actual physical scene, such as the church across the street from his home. The series marked a shift from his earlier approach of probing AI's latent space, grounding the work instead in lived experience and stripping away narrative to invite viewers to find their own meaning in the everyday.
