Bio
RMTRL is the name used by the artist Daniel Rojatz for a practice built on overpainting found and vintage photographs. He mixes earth, charcoal, wax and found plastic or packaging into the paint, then re-photographs, reprints and overpaints the image again. He spent more than twenty years working in visual communication, including art direction and photography, before turning his interest in the dust and scratches on negatives into a practice.
