Riniifish, also known as CEZXR,is a Chinese digital artist who creates evolving ecosystems of psychedelic bugs and imaginary life forms.,Based in Hangzhou,she works on an ongoing series called bugs, tiny translucent creatures who populate an imaginary planet named M7, each reflecting part of her own character or mood.,Through these creatures her work explores memory, emotion, ritual, early internet culture, and social dynamics.,
Riniifish worked as a designer before turning to art, beginning her exploration of digital art in 2020 and collaborating with brands, musicians and magazines until she was exhibiting internationally. Before the bugs appeared, she drew black-and-white characters she called girls and fishman, and has said the bugs unexpectedly turned her art world into a bright, colorful one.She has cited the Japanese artist Tadanori Yokoo as a formative influence who inspired her to keep creating despite early discouragement, including a teacher who once mocked the colors she used.In 2021 she released Non-human Journey / M7 Planet on Tezos.In 2023 she held her first solo exhibition, “We want to turn the body to the brain”, at N.51 Concept Gallery in Milan,,and left her design job to work as an independent artist.She has collaborated with the musician Simo Cell on an album and its accompanying peripherals, including vintage game cartridges,and with fashion brands including CASETiFY, Pull&Bear, and Adriana Hot Couture.Her work has been featured in TASCHEN's On NFTs anthology and in her own publication Sometimes Mind Blowing.,
In 2024 she showed Raise your fist, part of the bugs, at “Tezos Realm”, an objkt-curated event in Singapore during TOKEN2049 week.Through the bugs series she works through themes of life and death, emotional struggle and burnout, and sometimes just everyday life.,In 2025 her work appeared in “Silicon-based: New Creator”, a group exhibition on artificial intelligence and contemporary art at Tang Contemporary Art in Beijing.
