Reuben Wu

Bio

Reuben Wu (British, b. 1975) is a photographer and visual artist who uses drones, artificial light, and long exposures to reimagine landscapes. Based in Chicago, he is known for attaching lights to drones to illuminate remote terrain and for tracing their flight paths into geometric light patterns.

Wu was born in Liverpool in 1975 to parents who had immigrated from Hong Kong. He studied Industrial Design at university while immersed in Sheffield's music scene. In 1999 he formed the band Ladytron with Daniel Hunt, Mira Aroyo, and Helen Marnie, and spent the next decade touring rather than working as a designer.
