rata, working under the handle rata_yonqui, is a pixel artist whose work has circulated on both Ethereum and Tezos since at least 2022.¹ In an artist statement for a Tezos Art Review pixel art anthology, rata described pixel art as “as beautiful and complex as mosaics, weaving, or stained glass art”, prized for a resolution-independent quality that lets it scale without losing detail.²
