Rare is a digital painter and post-photographer who collaborates with machine learning neural networks to create two-dimensional artwork, blending new technology with the essence of traditional painting. Many works begin as GAN-generated reference images that are then digitally painted by hand from start to finish, a hybrid process the artist describes as running inputs through the machine and back.
