RalenArc is a generative artist based in the United States who builds abstract, code-based compositions rich in color, pattern, and texture.Her practice began in traditional media—mural art, clay, and painting—before she moved into generative and digital art, drawing much of her inspiration from the textures and organic unpredictability of the natural world.,,
For her generative pieces, she typically starts with hand sketches, settles on a favored design, and then translates it into code.Her work has been released through Sotheby's, Art Blocks, Feral File, Bright Moments, Foundation, and fxhash, and shown at galleries in Venice, Berlin, New York, London, Amsterdam, and Singapore.,,In January 2023 she was an artist in residence for a month at Bright Moments Gallery in New York.She was also part of “On Water”, a month-long New York City show, alongside 24 other generative artists.
In 2023 she took part in “N=12”, a Feral File group show curated by Aaron Penne that brought twelve artists across seven time zones into an ongoing dialogue as they built their work.,For the show she made Tessellate, a piece that uses code to combine the fluidity of watercolor with the structure of patchwork, referencing Boro quilts, a Japanese textile tradition dating to the 17th century. One of its patch fills nods to 10 PRINT, an early piece of generative code written for the Commodore 64 in the 1980s that prints alternating diagonal lines to form a maze.
She has also released the Art Blocks collection Enigma, the 200-piece collection Intellect, and, on Bitcoin, the Ordinals collections Orbit and Hidden Gardens through Gamma.,,Alongside her digital practice, she volunteers with a non-profit organization teaching physical art to students, and has hosted community art events such as a collaborative community-canvas painting in Marfa, Texas, and a clay art workshop with Station3 in New York.,
