PSW, the working name of Ping-Sheng Wu, is a Taiwanese artist working in sound and media, and a lecturer at the Interdisciplinary Program of Technology and Art at National Tsing Hua University. His practice spans sound art, audiovisual performance, and media installation, shown at the Taiwan Biennial, the Taiwan International Light Festival, and international media art festivals, among other venues.
He holds a BFA from Taipei National University of the Arts and an MA in Creative Sound and Media Technology from Bath Spa University in the UK.From 2016 to 2022 he worked as music supervisor at the media art company noiseKitchen, and since 2024 he has taught at National Tsing Hua University.,
In 2015 his collective won first prize at the 6th Digital Art Performance Award, and he was selected for the Taipei Digital Art Awards in 2014, 2015, and 2016. He held a residency at Triangle Arts Association in New York in 2019, joined the IRCAM ManiFeste Artist Exchange Program in Paris through Taiwan Sound Lab, and worked with YiLab on a residency at EMPAC in Troy, New York. In 2020 he was selected for the C-LAB CREATORS program, where he researched Wave Field Synthesis.
His 2023 dome work Folding Harmonies translates light's dual nature as particle and wave into a generative audiovisual piece, using code to render pixels as individually moving particles under a 360-degree projection. The work exists in more than two hundred generative variations fixed on the blockchain through smart-contract hash values, and it premiered at FUTURE VISION LAB in Hualien in February 2023 before touring to FilmGate Interactive in Miami and SAT Fest in Montréal.In 2024 he co-founded SYNZR, a media art brand whose debut work The Boundary of Sense was selected for the National Taichung Theater's 2024 NTT Arts NOVA program and premiered in May 2024.His dome work Temporal Strata, made with Liu Cheng-Chieh and co-produced with the TAICCA Dome Project, premiered at FUTURE VISION LAB 2026 in Taipei and toured North America in March 2026 with showings at FilmGate Interactive in Miami and SAT Fest in Montréal.,
