Bio

proxima centauri b is an artist who works with AI image models, fine-tuning Stable Diffusion checkpoints and LoRAs to create original visual styles. They began working with AI art after discovering GANs in 2018, moving through VQGAN and Disco Diffusion communities before turning to fine-tuning once Stable Diffusion was released. They joined Leonardo.Ai in 2023 to fine-tune text-to-image and video models, and later joined Canva.

Their fine-tuned Stable Diffusion models have been distributed through starryAI, Scenario.com, stablecog.com, krea.ai, and Hugging Face, including the styles Cinematic, Sci-Fi, Pudgy Diffusion, and Luna Diffusion. DarkVictorian, one of their earliest Dreambooth models, was extracted into a LoRA that blends with Luna Diffusion and is triggered with the phrase “darkvictorian artstyle”. From 2022 to 2024 they ran parrotzone.art, a community where they shared techniques with other early AI art practitioners.

They have taken on commissions for books, album covers, and trading card games. Their work has been shown at the Tech Adventures festival in Glasgow, the “MACHINES VS. HUMAN ART” exhibition at popkudamm in Berlin, and, as part of project22, at the artinspace360 gallery in Dubai.
