Some of the photographs were shot in producedbydav's studio, the same place the album's music was recorded, and others in the field between Calabasas and Malibu, California, just before sunrise. More than a thousand photos were taken across three shoots over two years, with the project minted a few pieces at a time toward a planned total of ten or twelve.¹
