Pretty Bad is the working name of the artist Dylan Murphy, who runs the streetwear, pin and patch, and art brand Pretty Bad Co. Work on Hic et Nunc spans the Portal series, which Murphy has described as his most popular NFT work, alongside pieces built around the themes of death, politics, anxiety and mental health, delivered with tongue-in-cheek humour across still and animated formats.
Murphy holds a BA in photography from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and worked as a graphic designer and a product photographer before starting Pretty Bad Co. full time, beginning with t-shirt designs and later expanding into pins and patches. Murphy began minting on Hic et Nunc after being introduced to NFTs by adhd, a member of the band Circa Survive who was already active in the space.
