Poppel is a multimedia artist whose work sits at the intersection of geek culture, pop culture, and science.Formerly a biologist, he works as a data analyst and freelance writer covering pop culture and art, alongside his art practice.
Before making his own art, he spent the mid-2010s writing about art and pop culture. He discovered Hic et Nunc in April 2021 and found several artists he already knew from elsewhere minting there, including Fornax Void, Anna Malina, and Jan Hakon Erichsen. He has described himself as an “outsider artist” who chose Tumblr over physical galleries, and values the anonymity that platforms like Hic et Nunc allowed.
His work Angel of Kensai was shown in the “Scherenschnitt 3.0” exhibition at GIF Gallery in July 2023.He is represented on GIF Gallery's artist roster, and his pixel art was included in the 2025 anthology TzAR: Pixel Art Anthology, published by The Blasted Tree with a foreword by Adrian Pocobelli, alongside more than fifty Tezos artists.,
