pixelwank makes generative art coded in the JavaScript library p5.js, working with geometric shapes and pixel-based textures. The name combines "pixels", the medium of the screen, with a slang term for something silly, reflecting a playful approach to the practice. pixelwank started learning p5js at the end of 2021 after years as a musician, playing in punk and rock bands touring Australia and internationally.
In February 2023, pixelwank released Wonk through the generative art platform Genify. The piece stacks polygons into a faux three-dimensional effect, layered with a dotted texture that mimics a handmade quality. pixelwank also worked with Circolors on SCRAWL, a generative art collection coded in p5.js and released on OpenSea.
