Pixel Symphony is the alias of Piyush, an algorithmic and plotter artist based in California.,He makes algorithmic abstraction built from clear geometry, measured color, and a sustained sense of rhythm, using the line as the basic unit of most pieces. His work fuses geometric abstraction with the emotive texture of abstract expressionism, drawing on formal training in art history and psychology and an earlier background in civil engineering.,
He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering from IIT-BHU (2004-2008), a Post-Graduate Diploma in Contemporary Art and Curatorial Studies from the Victoria and Albert Museum (2012-2013), and a Master's Degree in Psychology from Penn State University (2016-2018). He writes compact rules in code, keeps outputs plottable, and renders the results physically, translating code into SVG and then into ink on paper. For Poetics of Space he treats the circle as a self-referential sign, a closed system in which each circle perpetually refers to another, erasing any sense of a stable or original form. The series was released on fx(hash) in January 2025, alongside a companion set of twelve plotted, signed works called Poetics of Space: Ink & Paper on objkt.
In Space & Ego he began with inspiration from Max Bense and admiration for the artist Manfred Mohr. Archetypes grew from an interest in whether a universal aesthetic is embedded in mathematical principles, with waveforms becoming its central idea. For Appearance and Being he built a palette from Edith Young's book Color Scheme, merging the deep tones of Vermeer's pupils with the reds of Renaissance-era caps.On the generative art platform bootloader:, his Meditations in Color divides the canvas into bold color fields of rectangles, circles, and quarter-arcs, layering soft-light curves over the geometry.
In Kink (2023), a base element bends incrementally, with small directional shifts accumulating into new form. The Polyphony series debuted on objkt in 2024 and channels Paul Klee's vision of the line as a living entity, coding jittery yet deliberate strokes in p5.js that balance precision with organic movement. He had shown Idle/Interludes, text-informed visual works drawing on concrete and visual poetry, in a solo exhibition at Galerie Met in Berlin in August 2024.In 2025 he showed The Shape of Time, a study of duration built from recursive accumulation in which density and interval determine the drift of the field, in the duo exhibition “Point Charge” with the artist Manuel Tozzi at Galerie Met in Berlin.Traces (2025) is an open-form series examining fracture, reassembly, and interference across circle-based and grid-based systems.
