Phraze creates typographic prints and murals that warp and twist the words of a quote until the lettering itself forms an image echoing its meaning.Working as TEKSTartist since 2011,Phraze pairs each print with the quotation that inspired it, drawing lines from writers, musicians, and public figures.
In Moon And Back, the words "I love you" repeat in a looping orbit around an earth and moon, tracing the shape of an infinity symbol.Other designs warp lines from figures such as Muhammad Ali, Albert Einstein, and Neil Gaiman, including Balance, where the words spiral through the spokes of a bicycle wheel.,,Phraze created the endsheets for Hank Green's novel An Absolutely Remarkable Thing, which debuted atop the New York Times Best Seller list, and reinterpreted the Holstee Manifesto as a video and print. In TEKSTbook Vol 1, a hardcover edition of 500 signed and numbered copies, Phraze gathered six years of these designs alongside their source quotations, with a foreword by Carne Griffiths.
Phraze took part in a 27-lot auction at Sotheby's alongside artists including Beeple, Herbert Franke, and Justin Aversano.Around the same time, Phraze released ChronoBlocks on Magic Eden, an edition of 222 still frames extracted from a generative 1 of 1 animation previously sold at Sotheby's.,HOFA Gallery (House of Fine Art) presents Phraze's Clock Wise, minted on ApeChain and available through Magic Eden.Phraze's edition Satari Must Die comprises 2,230 tokens.
