PetiShaMiaou, also known as Shaga O'Nhan, makes interactive pixel art and generative art inspired by the look of early video games and pixel art from the early 2000s.A computer science researcher specializing in radiophysics by training, PetiShaMiaou works in image processing for a living and combines that background with an art practice grounded in code.,
PetiShaMiaou began selling NFTs in 2021 on the Harmony blockchain, where gas was cheap but the process required cumbersome custom software and uploading images one at a time. PetiShaMiaou later moved to Tezos and adopted the platform fxhash for generative work. PetiShaMiaou treats the practice as a hobby rather than a livelihood, keeping costs low and avoiding Ethereum to stay free of financial pressure. Rather than settle into a consistent visual style, PetiShaMiaou moves between experimental pieces such as 2D Mansion and Secret of the Medieval Cats, saying “doing it for fun allows me to be more authentic”.
