Peter Nitsch

Bio

Peter Nitsch is a German lens-based artist from the Upper Palatinate in eastern Bavaria. His work explores the relationship between people and their environments, examining how identity is shaped through daily rituals, urban structures and social landscapes. He studied Communication Design at the Munich University of Applied Sciences, where he developed a narrative style shaped by a rural upbringing and the skate culture of late-1980s Germany.

In 2006 Nitsch published his first photo book, Bangkok – Urban Identities, beginning a long-term engagement with Southeast Asian urban culture. He co-founded Playboard, a magazine fusing skateboarding and snowboarding culture, and the design studio RUPA.
