PERFECTL00P, known as Perfect Loop, is a multidisciplinary artist based in the mountains of Colorado, USA, whose work fuses retro computing culture with layered, time-based digital media. He began his career as a sound designer and composer for interactive media, and traces his approach to visual looping to techniques such as fading audio in and out and building seamless sound loops.,
He traces his interest in retro computing to early encounters with the Nintendo Entertainment System and early personal computers. Blocky pixels, the glow of tube televisions and monitors, and early Windows and Mac icons remain recurring visual references in his work.His high-contrast, high-saturation style is a deliberate choice, meant to cut through the volume of imagery competing for attention online.,He treats the loop both as a formal device and as a conceptual metaphor, drawing on a fascination with cinemagraphs and looping imagery such as falling leaves or a flickering television.He lives with his family in the mountains of Colorado, where he homeschools his children and values a quieter pace of life, a contrast he sees as central to the rhythm of his work.
His series runtime artifacts explores what he calls “beautiful but damaged systems”, transforming glitches and artifacts into an aesthetic, nostalgic experience, in the way musical distortion moved from unwanted accident to a deliberate technique. The series also explores what he calls “inescapable situations”, a feeling he compares to dreams of running or fighting in slow motion. He has spoken about wanting to “personify being a computer, being software, or being code”, though while making the series he began to wonder whether the work also represents people trapped inside a system.In January 2026 he released Sharpen, an 11-piece series that includes the pieces Palm, Scream, and Glare.
