Patric Ortmann is a motion designer and art director based in Frankfurt, Germany, who also makes personal digital art under the name MotionSickness. He combines looping 3D animation, particles, and projection mapping into hypnotic, meditative artworks that pair visual motion with soundscapes.
Ortmann trained as a professional chef before discovering media production and 3D animation during his studies. He began as a 2D motion designer before learning 3D, and has spent 15 years working for studios including Pixomondo, ACHT Frankfurt, and Bright! Studios on projects for brands such as Audi, Mercedes, VW, and Nike. Commercial work has included large-scale audiovisual installations, concert visuals, projection mapping, and UI design for cars, while MotionSickness serves as his outlet for experimental, personal work outside those commercial boundaries.
