Nathaniel Parrott is a multidisciplinary artistbased in Los Angeleswho works across music, writing, and visual art.He began making music on an old desktop computer at age eleven, and after a decade focused mainly on music, taught himself visual design software when he could not afford to commission cover art and tour posters.
Early in the emergence of NFTs, he joined SuperRare as an emerging artist, becoming an early adopter of the medium. He moved between drawing, music, and writing, producing finished pieces in Cinema 4D, Photoshop, and Ableton. His collaborative work includes Fabricated Fairy Tales, made with the artist FEWOCiOUS for Nifty Gateway, a collaboration with the Wright Brothers Estate, and one-of-one sales on SuperRare and other digital art platforms.
In October 2021, Parrott co-created NFT Affirmations with the artists Chad Knight, Samantha James, and Karsen Woods, also known as Karsen Daily, a collectible series of 10,000 NFTs inspired by success stories of the NFT community that paired meme-worthy art with affirmations.For Mental Health Awareness Month, he released the series How to Kill a Wildflower on the platform Voice, at the invitation of his collaborator Chad Knight. The work grew from a six-line poem rendered into 3D art painted over in Photoshop and paired with an original six-piece song. Parrott described it as a way to process the emotional toll of a fast rise in his career, comparing his own creativity to a wildflower that dies once it is picked and placed in a vase.
