Pak is a pseudonymous digital artist known for monochrome, often black-and-white generative and conceptual works released as large, gamified NFT drops. Pak was the subject of Sotheby's debut NFT sale in 2021 and designed the unique avatars given to visitors of the auction house's Decentraland gallery.
Pak also created Archillect, an automated account that surfaces images across the internet by algorithmically identifying visual trends. The Argument (2020) is held in the Museum of Crypto Art's Genesis Collection. The Title (2021) sold on Nifty Gateway as a set of identical monochrome cube tokens distinguished only by different names, such as The Cheap, The Expensive and The Lucky, and different prices. In 2021 Pak also released Censored with Julian Assange, an NFT drop that circulated while Assange was held in Belmarsh Prison. In April 2021 The Fungible debuted through Sotheby's in editions of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000, including the pieces The Cube, The Switch and The Pixel. That September, Lost Poets launched with more than 65,000 identical grey squares that collectors could transform into named poets and teach words to, a structure inspired by Jorge Luis Borges's story The Library of Babel.
